Cournette and Reginald Hawkins are excited to bring Pigtails & Crewcuts: Haircuts for Kids to Cypress, Texas. This will be the first location to open in the Greater Houston area.
After much discussion about owning a business together, husband-and-wife-duo Reginald and Cournette discovered the Pigtails & Crewcuts franchise. Being parents to young children and wanting to impact their community, investing in a franchise business seemed like the perfect venture. As a minority-owned business, they hope to inspire others, especially children, to show that entrepreneurship is possible for anyone.
“We want to be role models and show that you can take an idea and see it through. Kids are our future and we want to make an impact on the children,” says Reginald, co-owner of the new salon.
Reginald works in supply chain management while Cournette is an assistant principal at a local Cypress elementary school. As proud, long-time Cypress residents, the two are ready to apply their previous experiences to running a children’s hair salon that focuses on creating a safe space for all. “We love the area and are looking to be a staple in the community,” says co-owner, Cournette.
Pigtails & Crewcuts offers children and families a fun and exciting approach to haircuts. Each Pigtails & Crewcuts location features unique salon chairs, bright colors and a variety of engaging, movies, toys and video games to enjoy before, during and after the haircut. The salon will also feature ear piercings, a place to celebrate kids’ birthdays and a retail section filled with children’s hair care products, accessories and gifts.
The Cypress salon will be located at 25813 US Hwy 290, Suite 27 and is expected to open early fall this year. Grand opening festivities will be announced at a later date.
