When Dalia Wolf became a Pigtails & Crewcuts franchisee thirteen years ago, there were many positive things she felt business ownership might bring to her life. A best friend, however, was not on that initial list. Enter Angel Putnam, who joined our family in 2016. Both women come from different states, backgrounds, and life experiences. Despite those differences, their commonalities win every time, and their differences make their bond even stronger. Dalia became a franchisee in 2010. She originally discovered the concept when her two-year-old needed his first haircut and she realized there was nothing in Cedar Park, TX geared towards children. They ended up driving 45 minutes to the closest Pigtails & Crewcuts location. “We had a wonderful experience. I happened to speak to the owner there who was telling me how wonderful it was for her lifestyle and her family with young children, how lovely the whole Pigtails family was, and how proud she was with the work that they did with children and families.” When Dalia was ready to become a business owner, she remembered that conversation and contacted Pigtails & Crewcuts.
Angel had been a stay-at-home mom for five years and knew she wanted to work with children. She started researching children-based franchises back in 2016 and found Pigtails & Crewcuts. She realized there was an opportunity in her community in Greensboro, NC so she contacted the franchise office to learn more. “I came down to Atlanta and spent time traveling to the stores and getting to know the corporate office. It felt like home. I started the process and six years later, I am still loving every bit of it.”
Dalia and Angel are part of our amazing peer-to-peer network of franchisees in the Pigtails & Crewcuts system. It is because of relationships like theirs that our system is the best in the industry. Not only are they backed by the support of the franchise, but they have the support of each other. “We don’t run our businesses exactly the same way but the way that we feel about them is very similar. It’s a constant support about everything, all day, every day. We just get each other,” says Dalia. It is easy to connect with others who are in your same shoes each day, experiencing wins, and going through similar struggles. Angel shares that she was looking for someone she could connect with not just on a professional level, but a personal level as well. “I was looking for someone that could help guide me so to have Dalia and to see her strengths, to see her balance both so easily, to have her always be so open with me and just being there… she’s priceless,”
