Pigtails & Crewcuts: Haircuts for Kids is coming soon to Ocala, Florida. Long-time resident Amanda Schmidt and her father, Carlos Costa, are excited to introduce a new salon experience to town.
Being a local family and a nurse, caring and connecting with the community is important to Amanda. “By bringing a place like Pigtails & Crewcuts to the community, we hope to make one small thing, such as getting a haircut, a little bit easier for local children and their parents,” Amanda said. “We hope that all families, including families with children of special needs, find this a safe space,” she continued.
Amanda and her husband Daniel first discovered Pigtails & Crewcuts when looking for a kid’s salon that would make their son’s first haircut a happy milestone for everyone. “We enjoyed the experience so much that we have been driving to the Clermont and Orlando locations with our boys ever since,” says Amanda. Wanting to extend this welcoming experience to their local community, Amanda and her father Carlos decided to open a Pigtails & Crewcuts salon in Ocala.
When detailing what she’s most excited for, Amanda said, “We are excited to take some of the stress and fear that can come with getting a haircut away from the little ones and their families.”
The Ocala children’s salon will offer the same delightful experience found at other Pigtails & Crewcuts locations, including whimsical, vehicle-shaped chairs, bright colors with a variety of movies, toys and video games to enjoy before, during and after the haircut. The salon will also feature a retail section filled with children’s hair care products, accessories and gifts.
Pigtails & Crewcuts – Ocala will be located at 4414 SW College Rd. #1520 in the Market Street at Heathbrook Plaza and is expected to open later this year. Grand opening festivities will be announced at a later date.
