About Us

In 2002, Wade Brannon took his three young children to a new kid-centric salon in Atlanta named Pigtails & Crewcuts. He loved what he saw: a cheerful place where kids sat in brightly colored fire trucks and airplanes while getting their hair cut. Stylists, who were hand-selected for their friendliness and love of kids, buzzed about. Moms and dads sat, smiling and stress-free, as the Pigtails & Crewcuts staff pampered their children.

Brannon was so smitten with the concept that he, along with his business partner, Bucky Cook, bought the rights to franchise the children’s salon. That was the beginning of their quest to open Pigtails & Crewcuts across the nation.

This wasn’t their first business venture together. Brannon and Cook met in 1984, when they were working for a small retail store in Hilton Head, South Carolina, named Heavenly Ham. There, the two men were tasked with transforming a single store into a turnkey, franchise operation that could expand across the country. Under their leadership, Heavenly Ham grew to more than 230 stores nationwide. When they sold the business in 2002 to competitor HoneyBaked Ham, Brannon and Cook knew they would return to the franchise world, they just didn’t know in which arena … until they discovered Pigtails & Crewcuts.

Today, Pigtails & Crewcuts has grown to more than 30 salons across the U.S., allowing entrepreneurially minded men and women the opportunity to become business owners under a proven model. The turnkey support from Brannon, Cook and the entire Pigtails & Crewcuts staff makes the process to business ownership smooth and efficient. The on-going advising and service provided after the doors open helps facilitate continued business and brand growth.

Since 2007, Entrepreneur Magazine has included Pigtails & Crewcuts in its “Franchise 500″ list, and in 2010, Parents.com named Pigtails & Crewcuts one of the “Top 10 Chains for Kid Birthday Parties.”
