As the owner of two Pigtails & Crewcuts salons at the time, multi-unit franchisee Jennifer Tribble knew what to expect when she decided to open her third store in the Orlando area – and she was eager to get started.
Located in Dr. Phillips, Winter Springs and now Lake Nona, Jennifer’s Pigtails & Crewcuts franchises bring stellar service and a strong sense of community anywhere they go.
More Opportunities for Community Involvement
The main reason Jennifer decided to open her third Pigtails & Crewcuts franchise was also her favorite part of being a franchisee: being a part of great communities. Whether it’s her first store or third store, Jennifer makes sure each member of the community feels like family when they enter her Pigtails & Crewcuts.
A segment of her customers for whom Jennifer has a soft spot are children with special needs. From hiring a sensitive, patient and caring staff to partnering with organizations such as Autism Speaks, Jennifer has already established her Pigtails & Crewcuts as a kid’s haircut franchise for all children.
“We’re already known around town as being very inclusive to kids with special needs,” Jennifer said. “They can have a really tough time with haircuts, but my employees are great with them. My stylists have hearts of gold.”
Building a Network as a Multi-Unit Franchisee
Another reason Jennifer decided to open a third Pigtails & Crewcuts was to grow her franchise portfolio.
By opening multiple franchises in the same general area, Jennifer has been able to share resources and staff members between her stores. To her, that’s a major benefit to becoming a multi-unit franchisee.
“There’s a real cohesiveness between multi-unit franchises,” Jennifer said. “My employees work at multiple stores. That makes running my stores easier, because I have a bigger pool of stylists to pull from, and it makes staff management much easier and more flexible.”
Working at a children’s hair salon franchise such as Pigtails & Crewcuts requires teamwork, and watching her employees grow is something Jennifer cherishes as a business owner.
With the addition of her third Pigtails & Crewcuts, Jennifer has been more eager than ever to promote her store managers. By giving her managers more responsibility, Jennifer better allows herself to not only grow as a business owner and improve her operations for her employees and customers but also find a stronger work-life balance for herself.
Because of her trust in the team she’s built, Jennifer is able to work the majority of her hours from the comfort of her own home and spend time with her two young sons.
“I remember an old boss explaining to me that it’s in your best interest as a business owner to promote people,” Jennifer said. “You can’t move up unless your employees move up. You can’t climb to 10,000 feet unless someone takes over your spot at 5,000 feet. I’ve carried around that idea my whole life.”
